When it comes to capturing your relationship, there’s no better place than the iconic desert landscape of Joshua Tree National Park. I had the absolute pleasure of working with Mikhala and Justin for an amazing golden hour couples portrait session in the park. The two chose Quail Springs for the variety it provides, and the results were pure magic! This beautiful couple, along with their two adorable dogs, showed just how fun and personal a couples photo session in Joshua Tree can be.

Couples Photos with Their Dogs

The session started with a casual vibe as Mikhala and Justin rocked a relaxed look—jeans and matching white tee shirts. There’s something so effortless and authentic about the simplicity of their outfits! The two paired perfectly with the natural earth-toned desert surroundings.


I often get asked if you can include your dogs in your session, and the answer will always be yes! Dogs are a part of the family too. And, let's be real - they're just so cute! I love that Mikhala and Justin included their pups for several shots! How sweet are those faces?

Quail Springs | Joshua Tree National Park


Quail Springs is one of my favorite locations for couples photos or elopements because of the variety in the landscape. The spot features several iconic Joshua Trees as well as an epic rock formation.


In Joshua Tree, there’s truly natural beauty around every corner; it's no wonder the park is such a popular spot for couples sessions like Mikhala and Justin's. When you combine natural desert beauty with the genuine love between theses two, it’s truly a recipe for unforgettable photographs.

Casual Couples Candids in Joshua Tree

My approach to couples photography utilizes strategic posing prompts to help capture the candid, real moments. You'll never have to wonder what to do with your hands! Whether it's a tender embrace, a burst of laughter, or a sunset kiss, I'll be there to guide you through the process. This session is a perfect example of the kind of authentic images I help my couples create.


Along with the candids, I also make sure to provide the expected, more polished poses as well. My galleries are all-inclusive, so you won't see any limit on the number of images around here! I pride myself in delivering all of the best, fully-edited final images in an online gallery with a print and download release included.

Romantic Golden Hour & Sunset

As the golden hour approached, Mikhala and Justin decided to change up the look a bit, swapping their casual outfits for something a little more formal. Mikhala stunned in a flowing dress while Justin stepped it up in a sleek polo shirt. The transformation was perfect for their sunset shots! With the warm desert light casting a soft glow over the landscape, this couple's connection shone brighter than ever. The soft, amber hues of the setting sun created a dreamy and romantic atmosphere—perfect for capturing the beauty of their love.
