Aliza and Patrice tied the knot at Nxwhere California on a sunny fall day! The two chose Nxwhere, an eclectic and artsy Joshua Tree wedding venue, for its carefully curated vibes and one-of-a-kind character. With multiple unique homes to choose from and a property full of fun, Nxwhere promises an unforgettable experience in the high desert.

The couple started off their special day getting ready at The Glass House, said 'I do' in front of the property's incredible natural rock formations, adventured out for sunset portraits, and partied the night away in the skate park. Yes, you read that right! Aliza and Patrice's boho Joshua Tree wedding is one for the books! I'm so grateful I got to document the day.

Nxwhere California: A Unique Joshua Tree Wedding Venue

Nxwhere (pronounced "Nowhere") California is an artist collective, desert social club, and event venue located just fifteen minutes from Joshua Tree National Park. A diamond in the rough, Nxwhere spans 100 acres of the high desert and showcases a slew of functions and features. Around every corner of the property, both inside and out, you'll find new surprises. It hosts a coffee shop, a skate park, a live music venue, and a store with artists' custom apparel, motorcycles, and riding gear. There's also a pool, a trampoline, a basketball court, fire pits, and countless epic art pieces.

Located off of a dirt road, it's obvious how Nxwhere got its name. The remote spot provides stunning views of the natural desert landscape, complete with incredible rock formations and mountain ridges. Sunset here is a must-see! If you want a unique, romantic, fun, and intimate wedding day, Nxwhere is the perfect venue!

Guests can book a stay at one of Nxwhere's four unique homes - The Stone House, The Cedar House, The Glass House or The Bird House. Aliza and Patrice chose The Glass House for their wedding day, as pictured below.

FAQ: Should I do a 'first look'?

As a Joshua Tree and Palm Springs wedding photographer, I get this question a lot. Ultimately, it's your wedding day and up to you! However, I do often recommend a first look. I especially encourage one if you know you want lots of couples portraits, and/or have a ceremony time close to sunset. Wedding timelines tend to run late, and lighting has a huge impact on photos. It may sound obvious, but once the sun sets, it's gone. With a first look, you can take advantage of afternoon lighting and remove stress after your ceremony!

P.S. If you book me as your wedding or elopement photographer, I'll help you plan a timeline that accounts for optimal lighting and sets you up for am easy, stress-free day!

Couples Portraits in the Golden Hour Desert Glow

Patrice and Aliza's wedding ceremony was set during golden hour, the desert glowing and warm as the sun set for the day. Afterwards, the newlyweds snuck away to soak in the final moments of daylight. There's something so magical about this time of day in the desert! It's one of the many reasons I love what I do.

Wedding Reception in the Skate Park

Remember that skate park mentioned earlier? Well, this is it! Who knew a skate park could be this gorgeous, right?! I absolutely love the creativity in Aliza and Patrice's wedding reception. Utilizing Nowhere's awesome skate park was a brilliant idea! The couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner catered by Desert Dine.
