A Wedding Venue Like No Other

Nestled on 30 acres of peaceful countryside, Parkton Place is one of North Carolina's most unique wedding/elopement venues. With rolling pastures, beautiful gardens, rustic charm, and friendly horses roaming the property, it offers an incredible backdrop for couples who love nature and want a wedding that feels both elegant and relaxed.

One of the things that makes Parkton Place so special is its incredible variety of photo locations. From the charming farmhouse and scenic pond to the rustic barn and wide-open fields, every corner of the property offers something beautiful.

But perhaps the most unforgettable feature is the horses.

For couples who love animals or dream of a countryside wedding, the horses at Parkton Place create truly one-of-a-kind portraits. Watching the newlyweds interact with these gentle animals added so much personality and authenticity to their gallery.

The combination of their wedding attire, lush fields, and majestic horses created images that feel both timeless and uniquely North Carolina.

Why Rain Made This Elopement Even More Magical

There's a saying that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and after photographing this beautiful celebration at Parkton Place, I couldn't agree more! What started as a day with storm clouds in the forecast became one of the most romantic weddings I've had the privilege of documenting.

There’s something undeniably romantic about a rainy wedding day. While many couples hope for sunshine, some of the most heartfelt, emotional, and unforgettable celebrations happen beneath cloudy skies. This beautiful elopement at Parkton Place in North Carolina is proof that a little rain can make a wedding day even more meaningful.

Rain Doesn't Ruin Photos

One of the biggest concerns couples have is whether rain will affect their photographs. The truth is, rain often creates some of the most beautiful images of the entire day.

Cloudy skies act like nature's largest softbox, producing flattering light without harsh shadows. Clear umbrellas become elegant accessories, reflections add depth and creativity, and the weather often encourages couples to slow down and simply enjoy being together.

Some of my favorite wedding galleries have happened during unexpected rain because they capture genuine emotion instead of perfect conditions.

Embracing the Rain

As the forecast threatened showers throughout the day, this couple chose joy over worry. Instead of letting the weather change their plans, they embraced every moment with smiles, laughter, and the kind of love that makes every photograph feel timeless.

The soft rain created a dreamy atmosphere unlike anything a bright sunny day could offer. The overcast skies provided beautiful, even light, making every portrait feel rich, romantic, and full of emotion. Raindrops clung to flowers, reflections shimmered across the property, and every image carried a sense of intimacy that simply can't be recreated. Some of my favorite moments happened between the raindrops - quiet glances, spontaneous laughter, and those little in-between moments that tell the real story of their day.
